Ella Tjader is in our Designer Spotlight today. Here, Ella talks with AFB and founder Jenny Morgan about designing through AFB and more.
Jenny: Ella’s style just amazes me, it is so colorful and yet so organic. Modern and yet retro. You know how a great pattern just tells you where it belongs? Ella’s patterns always speak to me in that way. Take “Flower Garland” above – doesn’t that just shout “WALLPAPER! Make me into WALLPAPER!”? Read on for more about the amazing Ella.
AFB: What’s your Favorite Project you’ve worked on with AFB?
Ella: My favorite project is designing for the AFB Art Marketplace. I love doing patterns!
AFB: Design(s) You’re Most Proud of that you’ve done for AFB to-date?
Ella: My favourite designs at the moment are probably designing Novelty and Floral patterns.

AFB: Do you have a favorite celebration?
Ella: Yes, Birthdays are my favorite. I love coming up with new ideas for my children’s birthdays. One boy has a winter birthday and my other boy has a summer one so the themes are always different.
