Wrap it up!

Holiday gift shopping means there will soon be wrapping to be done, and the Bunch looooooves wrapping paper!  I try to make all the gift wrap coordinate under the tree but Santa and his Elves sometimes throw off all that coordination with whatever wrap they’re using up at the North Pole.

Some of our favorite gift wrap, tags & tape are from Crate & Barrel this year.  The “Treelot” section of their website and stores is loaded with wrapping delights, plus scads of great ornaments, gifts and more.   First up, the Sweater Gift Wrap – simple, perfect.

 

These laser cut felt wine bags are a bargain at $4.95 and totally dress up any bottle of wine for hostess gifts, or a bottle of cheer under the tree.

Next from Etsy shop Paper and Present is this festive winter birds paper.  There is something about the combination of birds & pine boughs that really says Christmas to me, and this would look great combined with the Sweater wrap above.  It comes in a 2 ft. x 25 ft. roll – great for wrapping those larger gifts.

Also from Paper and Present is this fantastic Holiday Trees gift wrap – love that bright green against the brown of the kraft paper!

I can’t resist a good faux bois anything, including gift wrap.  This Woodgrain Gift Wrap from The Container Store would add a slightly masculine woodsy touch to your pile of gifts.

To put the finishing touches on all these gifts, there is nothing better than a great grosgrain ribbon like this one from Crate and Barrel.  Grosgrain is simple, but elegant, and I prefer its matte look to a flashier satin ribbon.

Finish it all off with kraft paper gift tags from Etsy shop Paper Notebook.

Now – if vintage is your thing, you can find vintage gift wrap on Etsy – when I was a child we had the kitschy wraps shown below.  What fun to find it from Etsy shop Grandmother’s Attic!  For a couple of years my mother planned and ran the employee holiday party for GE Medical Systems, which included giving a wrapped gift to every child who attended.  My sister, brother, cousins and I were all pressed into service wrapping gifts of Playmobil sets and those Tomy Waterful Ring-toss toys, which is why I remember all of this gift wrap so well!
