More Holiday Greetings

Now that I have kids, I tend to send (or attempt to send) holiday cards featuring photos of my kids.  Although I would love to style my kids before the holiday card photo, with three boys the reality is that there is no actual “holiday card photo” – it’s more like I snap pictures of the three of them doing whatever it is we’re up to all year long and then hope that come December there will be one shot in the mix that looks semi-decent.  (And by semi-decent I mean the kids’ and their clothing are relatively clean and everyone is more or less smiling or looking at the camera.)  I am waaaaaaay over the squeaky clean perfect kids shot and prefer to tell myself that these au naturel shots of mine are the way the kids look 99% of the time, so why pretend otherwise?

Anyway, I digress.  What I am really trying to say is that there are fantastic NON-PHOTO holiday card options out there!  The art is so great on these that I want to frame each and every one, and I feel pretty sure that your friends might like to receive these more than they want to receive a photo card featuring my semi-ratty kids.

The cards from House That Lars Built – so clever!  The mix of photography and typography looks so modern.

I am in the midst of a full-on obsession with Rocket Ink.  Something about the typography, the color palette and the simple but effective art has me swooning.

That Hunter Plaid.  Are you kidding me with this fabulousness, Rocket Ink?

Next:  Ed Miller Design.  I’ve been following Ed’s work for a while now via LinkedIN and he is a real talent.  What a treat to find that he has a little Etsy shop where you can pick up this variety pack that will have you at the ready with a great, festive card to add to any gift or drop in the mail.

Finally, a little something from the great Brad Woodard.  I found Brad via Skillshare, and all of us at AFB are huge fans of his Illustration class there.  If you’re not into learning new tips on Illustrator, you can still enjoy a little of his talent with this Noel Letterpress Holiday card.  Love it!
