Holiday Shopping!

Why hello!  It’s been a while, right?  We’ve been busy refreshing our logo, revamping the website and a whole host of other things – some more interesting than others!  In the interesting category, our blog finally has a title – yay! – we’ve got a bunch of new membership benefits, and our Marketplace has been completely refreshed with new pricing, new designs, and more.

Working on all that has been super fun, but it is a relief to be moving from the planning things phase to the doing things phase, and see all of our ideas come to life.  And that means that we can get back to business here on the blog.

With the holidays just around the corner, I’ve got shopping on the brain.  As much as I love to troll the internet (and oh, do I love to do that!), the amount of STUFF out there can get a teeny bit overwhelming, don’t you think?  It would be lovely to dive into Etsy or wherever for hours on end, but really, I have a business to run, a family to feed, dogs to walk, and if I indulged my desire to window shop on the internet without some kind of guidance, things could get ugly pretty quickly.  Like me in my robe and pajamas surrounded by boys’ dirty socks and dishes kind of ugly.  You get it.

To put a little structure, shall we say, on this holiday window shopping, I went to the best source there is – the AFB Designers!  We already know they’re a talented bunch, and so why not do some shopping for their products wherever they’re sold?  Who knows what we’ll find!

So here we go, I’ve got 20 minutes to shop.

First up: A gift to myself with designer Liz Ablashi’s fabric on Spoonflower.  My living room couch and chairs finally succumbed to years of dogs and kids and have just gotten re-upholstered in a dark gray with a band of mustard yellow trim along the skirt.  All that’s missing are throw pillows, and this print below would be fabulous for that.

Now for my husband.  He loves camping and the great outdoors but since I am more of an “indoorsy” type, I am totally not qualified to buy him gear for that.  But art that relates to camping and the outdoors?  Oh yes.  A print  or two from designer Erin Dorholt’s Society 6 shop is just the ticket.

Next up: sisters-in-law.  A little trip to designer Courtney Morgenstern’s Etsy shop reveals that she’s also a jewelry designer.  I mean, really, it is kind of unfair for one person to be good at multiple things, but I will try to move past that.  This bauble would be great for over a white blouse or tee with jeans.

There are more things on our wish list that we’re pinning over on Pinterest – there is something for everyone on your list, so take a look.  Happy shopping!
