Today, Petra Kern is in our Designer Spotlight, talking with AFB and founder Jenny Morgan about designing through AFB and more.

Jenny: When a designer applies to join A Fresh Bunch, we don’t see more than their portfolio and answers to our application questions. So, it is really fun when we DO get to see photos of the designer and their workspaces, and those photos so clearly represent that designer’s style. This is really true in the case of Petra – that white top she’s wearing in the photo above has a boho-chic vibe that we often see in Petra’s designs, especially her florals. Take a look at some of her work below, and I think you’ll agree! We’re so proud to have Petra be a member of A Fresh Bunch!
AFB: What’s your Favorite Project you’ve worked on with AFB?
Petra: I have a lot of favorites, but I’d have to say that my favorites right now would be the Wedding Invitations for Greenvelope and Baby Announcements for both Avanquest and Invitation Box. I particularly loved working on the project for Greenvelope because the main instruction was that they didn’t want to have any design similar to what they already had. That was such a lovely thing because it gave me so much design freedom. I just love making patterns so I would say that creating designs for the Art Marketplace is another favorite of mine!

AFB: Design(s) Your Most Proud of that you’ve done for AFB to-date?
Petra: I am just proud of every design that is accepted by clients. I am also proud of the latest patterns I designed for the Art Marketplace

More About Petra
AFB: What’s Your Favorite Celebration?
Petra: Oh that’s easy–Christmas! It really gives winter a little sparkle. Plus I just love the idea that I don’t have to do anything except decorate our home with my children. My mother and mother-in-law do all the cooking, baking, stirring, etc. for everybody so we just go there, sit and eat, eat, eat (hahaha)! We also gather with friends during Christmas, which is also great.

“Here are my kids. They love spending a lot of time outdoors.”
“And this is my ‘office,’ a tiny little working space in our living room.”
